How do you control a person when they have been given freedom? Yet our Savior came to set us free, but that freedom is often controlled from a man generated basis of power or fear. “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery”. Consider marriage, how many husbands and wives give their mates total freedom to fully express themselves in Christ without fear of repercussion? Is not the fear of losing possession of something that never should have been possessed in the first place the progenitor of constraint and restriction over another stifling a person’s potential? We need to think differently as we grow in Christ. “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—-think about such things. If we can but honor one another as that unique expression of God doing what they know to do and encourage them in their quest, then we are advancing the kingdom as we concurrently advance that individual and that is both love and creative energy. And guess what? You are indeed energy, a creative energy that comes by the Holy Spirit. The dictionary shows creative energy as “relating to or involving the use of the imagination or original ideas to create something: change unleashes people’s creative energy”. To create something requires: Foreknowledge or Prescience: – The vision, where imagination is the eye and the place of focus to find the picture of the vision. We were born with the innate potential of becoming like our Creator. This untapped potential energy lies dormant until something occurs that ignites an action which causes a spontaneous combustion. This in turn, creates the spark to an embryonic part to complete its destiny. This interaction then becomes the Life force or the dynamism required to enable a new birth. This begins the process of realizing the full potential of being a child of God. On a macro scale, this is similar to the means of creating the heavens and earth, which also began in the Spirit as in, “In the beginning God”. This “beginning” discussed here, has relevancy to us because after our interaction with the Holy Spirit, we can say, in the beginning I looked upon myself and I was formless and void and there was darkness over me and, because of Jesus, I am able to separate the Light from the darkness and I declared it good and that was the end of day (phase) one. At this point in the creation process, God continued to appoint the features and attributes of his creation (view this creation as what goes on within us) blessing each change on the way. It was on the sixth day that God decided to make men and women in his likeness and image and gave them dominion over all things of the earth (the body). Over time man rebels against God and every form of evil permeated the earth and the earth and all living creatures were destroyed. Accordingly, we can look within and see this same kind of upheaval in us and a judgment here too is necessary and just and the former man destroyed. And as God refaced the earth, he charged Noah and his family to repopulate the earth and to walk in upright ways and to once again take dominion over the earth and to tend to its needs. So too, must this new man in Christ take dominion over his world and tend to the things to be added and perfect the environment in which he operates as a caretaker of a new creation of God.
