If I could hold all the lonely people of the world in my arms to comfort them –
I would but I am just one man.
If I could love the unloved, protect the threatened, feed all those who hunger, provide shelter for the homeless, heal the sick, provide hope to those without hope – I would but I am just one man.
If I could be the eyes to the blind, the ears to the deaf, give strength to the weak, provide friendship to the friendless, and prosperity to the poor – I would but I am just a man.
If I could but fool the foolery, bribe the bribers, deceive the deceivers, spin the spinners, fake the fakers, and rob the robbers, while educating the educators – I would but I am just a man.
If I could collect the collectors, broadcast the broadcasters, be wealth to the wealthy, make truth from untruth, lend to the lenders, oppress the oppressors – I would but I am just a man.
If I could but rule the rulers, regulate the regulators, bring light to darkness, make things as they appear disappear, or create an illusion to the illusionists – I would but I am just a man.
If could humble the proud, lift up the lowly, bring a smile to the sad – I would but I am just a man.
If I could remove hurt from the hurting, open doors that are closed, give life to the dead I would – but I am just one man.
It I could myself but rise from the dead and bring life to all, I would but I am just a man. If I could find and lead the lost to their loving home I would, but again – I am just a man.
If I could but find such a One who can bring comfort and joy to all who cry out, I would but I am just a man who like you, needs such a One of Hope and Promise and his name is Jesus.
