In the Beginning there was God. God wanted a people, a family if you will. God established a form of government and charged certain Elohim to watch over the people. These Elohim failed in their charge and God called a summit. These are the minutes of the meeting: God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: “How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Selah Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.” They have neither knowledge nor understanding, they walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. I said, “You are gods, sons of the Most High, all of you; nevertheless, like men you shall die, and fall like any prince.” Arise, O God, judge the earth; for you shall inherit all the nations! . At this point God turned the nation’s over to lesser god’s and formed a new nation Israel. These nations found in Genesis (the table of nations) total 70. (It is interesting to note that Jesus later would deploy 70 disciples to these nations.) After the creation of the Nation Israel wherein God would provide direct oversight the people of Israel after some time had elapsed would clamor for a human king so God allowed it while acknowledging the people had rejected him but with the with caveat that much dismay and cost will be associated with such an act including taxes. “When you saw that Nahash the king of the sons of Ammon came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ although the LORD your God was your king. “Now therefore, here is the king whom you have chosen, whom you have asked for, and behold, the LORD has set a king over you.… But this king, will also take your male servants and your female servants and your best young men and your donkeys and use them for his work. “He will take a tenth of your flocks, and you yourselves will become his servants. “Then you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.” The people wanted to be like every other kingdom because an unseen King would not suffice in their present day and they sought a like identity to other nations. People soon began to further stray away from God and his statutes and set up a system of governance that mimicked that which they had observed and began to fall away from obeying God focusing instead on other gods and the allure of fleshly things which further perpetuated separation of God from his people. God called out to his people to return and repent and he would have mercy on them but they rushed on in their pursuits pushing God ever further from their remembrance until finally God in his anger and disgust severed the relationship. LORD said also unto me in the days of Josiah the king, hast thou seen that which backsliding Israel hath done? She is gone up upon every high mountain and under every green tree, and there hath played the harlot. And I said after she had done all these things, Turn thou unto me. But she returned not. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. And it came to pass through the lightness of her whoredom, that she defiled the land, and committed adultery with stones and with stocks.
God in his mercy and love saw a need for a “new thing”. He would make his abode with man and he sent his only begotten son Jesus Christ to become the Overcomer of sin and the Precursor of a new and better covenant designed for the regeneration of man by faith and acceptance of that great sacrifice of Jesus. We now have come some two thousand years plus form the time of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ and still man rebels and turn their back to the Father. This is a message to people of the United States of America. Are we not today carrying out the very same acts of disobedience and slander to our God that was found in a disobedient Israel? How do we say “Under God” in this country when generally it is the item the words are engraved on that is the real item of worship? How can God be eradicated form our schools, government, society’s political correctness issues and yet call him God. Should a Nation who has turned her back on God expect to be blessed? Should God write a Bill of Divorcement to the United States? Has he already? Has not a disobedient United States become a reprisal of the Israel of old and worthy of judgment every bit as stern and deserved? Many believe this nation is indeed now suffering from the sores brought on by God’s judgment on this land and yet is there still one who will appeal to the Lord, “if I could but find even one righteous man will you still destroy the nation”?
It is here that I take great liberty from the Scripture saying: Moreover the Word of the Lord came to me saying, Go and cry in the ears of America saying, Thus saith the Lord; I remember thee, the kindness of thy youth, the love of thine espousals, when thou wentest after me in the wilderness (early America), in a land that was not sown. America was holiness unto the Lord, and the first fruits of his increase: all that devour him shall offend; evil shall come upon them, saith the Lord. Hear the Word of the Lord houses of America and all the families therein. Thus sayeth the Lord, What iniquity have your “Fathers” found in me, that they are gone far from me, and have walked after vanity, and are become vain? Neither said they, Where is the Lord that brought us up out of the land of persecution (the nation’s founding). And I brought you into a plentiful country to eat the fruit thereof and the goodness thereof; but when you entered you defiled my land and made mine heritage an abomination.
Though Scholars and Bible Purists will no doubt take me to task for my transgressions, I believe the relevance is apparent and the Father’s Complaint if it were to be filed this day to be valid. What to do as Christians is a question I shall attempt to address in the next segment of this letter to the Saints.
